This guide describes the Gecko build of Bew. Check the latest release notes for the features included in your download.
01
Bring your things along.
On first launch, Bew offers to import from Safari, Chrome, Arc, Brave, Edge, Firefox, or Zen, and to sign in to a Mozilla account for Firefox Sync. Both are optional. You can reopen setup later from the … menu with Set up Bew…
02
Give your project a home.
Create a workspace from the sidebar, give it a name and a color, and open the pages you need. Use a container when you need a separate set of website logins, and Customize to set the sidebar’s tint, opacity, and grain.
03
Put two ideas side by side.
Press ⌘D to split the current tab, or drag a sidebar tab onto another, hold until it highlights, and drop it to pair them. Resize the divider to suit your work, and pin documentation in a side pane to keep it visible as you switch tabs.
04
Open your workbench.
Open the developer tools for Elements, Console, Network, Sources, Storage, and Flow. Press ⌃⌘M for responsive mode, ⌃⌘T to trace a value with Lineage, and ⌘J for the terminal.
05
Tell Bew where your app lives.
On a local page, click + Env to start an app and add its staging and production origins. The address bar badge then switches between them, and ⌃⌘E jumps to the next one. In Network, right-click a request to override its response or always block it.
06
Let the sidebar help.
Open Widget Settings to turn on Verification, Form Replay, Meetings, Pull Requests, and Local Servers. Verification needs a Gmail app password, Meetings needs Calendar access, and Pull Requests uses the GitHub CLI.
